A licensing issue prevents VoiceObjects from launching

Symptoms

VoiceObjects Server and/or VoiceObjects Desktop cannot be started after installation (or upgrade) of a VoiceObjects Server instance. A message Failed to initialize component SystemMonitor. Reason: Invalid EasyLicenser configuration condition. Corrupt hidden file is displayed.
It may be required to check the file /WEB-INF/Exceptions.dmp for detailed information on this issue.

Resolution

• You probably have installed an upgrade of VoiceObjects or intended to create a new VoiceObjects Server instance by unzipping a package or by copying VoiceObjects folders (such as "Platform/"), which will confuse the licensing system.
  To fix this, locate the (hidden) file .ezl* in the affected instances /WEB-INF/config/ folder and delete it. Then restart the instance.
