"No more handles" message when running Desktop for Eclipse on Windows
Symptoms
An error message "No more handles" is shown while working with Desktop for Eclipse.
No further user actions in Desktop for Eclipse are possible.
Resolution
If too many handles are used by other applications running in parallel to Desktop for Eclipse, it might be possible that Desktop for Eclipse can not claim enough handles to open a context menu, dialog flow or an object editor.
If a corresponding error message is shown you do not need to restart Desktop for Eclipse.
Please go to the Windows Task Manager and look for applications that are using many handles. After stopping those applications (those you do not need for that moment) Desktop for Eclipse should be able to fetch more handles, so you can start working again without any errors.
To get the number of handles a process uses, please open the Windows Task-Manager and choose the columns to be shown for the process list from View - Select Columns. In the Select Columns Box please choose Handle Count to show the number of handles per process.
